He now works as the host of Foxtel’s Crimes That Shook Australia, as a correspondent for Network Seven’s popular current affairs program, Sunday Night, and regularly hosts Australia’s top-rating morning TV program, Sunrise.

As an agile and cunning interviewer he has created memorable television moments with some of the biggest names in politics, crime, entertainment and sport.

As a news correspondent Matt has reported from disaster zones around the world, including the deadly tsunami in Japan, earthquakes in New Zealand, the Bali 9 executions in Indonesia, and he has even infiltrated dangerous Asian and central American gangs to expose the horrors of the child sex and organ trafficking trades.

Matt has anchored rolling live coverage of the winter Olympics in Russia, and has been awarded by the United Nations (UN) for outstanding television reporting. In 2017, he was a top-three finalist in the prestigious Walkley Awards and also nominated for a Logie Award for a dangerous undercover investigation in Haiti. The mission led to the dismantling of an international child sex ring, and the rescue of 30 child victims.
